I performed and lectured Shakespeare at a performing arts high school. It was their ROTC day. My interpreter is standing stage right of me but the kids were helping her with the translations…

Sometimes you are called upon to do things with cats on your head…

This little one was the tiger of the group. She knows no fear….

I took them outside for rehearsal one day to work on their voices. The field all around me was filled with Shakespeare…

I dubbed this kid “Fish”. He is same goofball we all had in every class growing up. Very funny and very smart…

Faculty takes a lunch break…

Back to work…

 

While cultures, religions, political and economic systems change from region to region, people do not. Kids are kids in every country of the world.

 

 

 

China Morning

It’s up in the morning and time to take the short walk over to the school where I am helping some kids with English using Shakespeare and verse as the vehicle…

This is my guest room. I can leave it a little messy, it’s just me.

This is my courtyard. I cut through here to be on my way…

…and take a shortcut through the park…

…past the corner store…

But don’t be fooled. People here buy their necessities by swiping their QR codes on the way out.

I saw one of the kids there:

To say she’s attached to her phone would be a true statement.

The street sweepers are out today.

I will stop at the tea house:

For a little history lesson mural with my tea.
